Officially Licensed VMSB-233 Squadron Patch — Marine Scout Bombing Squadron 233 WWII-Era Embroidered Patch

VMSB-233 — Marine dive bombers in the Solomons and across the Pacific.

VMSB-233 was a Marine Scout Bombing squadron that saw combat during World War II in the Pacific theater. Flying the SBD Dauntless dive bomber, VMSB-233 participated in the grueling Solomons campaign, conducting dive bombing missions against Japanese positions, shipping, and airfields. The Solomons campaign — including the battles for Guadalcanal, New Georgia, and Bougainville — was a turning point in the Pacific war, and Marine scout bombing squadrons like VMSB-233 played a critical role in establishing air superiority and supporting ground operations across the island chain.
