VMSB-245 — Marine dive bombers bringing precision strikes across the Pacific war.

VMSB-245 was a Marine Scout Bombing squadron that served during World War II, flying dive bombing missions in the Pacific theater. Marine scout bombing squadrons provided the precision strike capability that ground commanders relied on to destroy enemy fortifications, supply lines, and troop concentrations. VMSB-245 pilots mastered the art of the steep dive, rolling in from altitude and holding steady through the anti-aircraft barrage to place their bombs on target. The scout bombing community represented some of the most skilled and courageous aviators in Marine Corps history.
